We get even a little streak of nice weather and fishing seems to take off. Inshore fishing has played a part. Croaker have spread along the beaches and inshore to Ocean City and Atlantic City, and bigger flounder definitely have increased at the reefs and lumps.

The ocean was running with a strong current and high waters in the surf Tuesday that affected surf-fishing at least. The consensus from recent reports indicate fishing should be pretty good when it all settles down and we head into the final days of August and into Sept-ember.

Brigantine Kingfish swam all over the surf, and fishing for them kept getting better, said Capt. Andy from Riptide Bait & Tackle. Bloodworms became the better bait, because waters chilled. But waters started warming again, so Fishbites artificial worms began to work.
